I say this from personal experience -- clearly. Growing up empathic, could be challenging at times, but it wasn't just because my parents weren't incredibly open to it. It was because of the lack of awareness I had about the gift of empathy in general.
The important thing is not how you relate to or define trauma to make it comfortable for you to accept the hurt, pain, or obstacles you have experienced in this incarnation, but to know that trauma is not held in a singular aspect of our lives. We can have many traumatic experiences or situations in our lives that, over time, block us from who we really are. The sacrifice we have already made is in our soulfulness, our leadership, our wisdom. All of our heroes are gone. There will be no one to lead us. Now is the time we must collectively or individually decide for ourselves.
Grief is eerie in the silence it requires, despite the noise of the constant flow of condolences. What are condolences anyway? I mean really. Everything changes in grief, in loss. How could it ever be the same? When something constant and is irrevocably yours leaves this plane, there is no consolation.
“Breastfeeding is a part of the motherhood journey that proved to be a puzzle piece that didn’t quite connect for me. And I know I’m not alone in this by any means, but it still serves as a painful reminder and another disappointment that showed up in the early days of motherhood.”
“…so many of our issues are present due to what we have inherited from our parents, otherwise known as generational patterns or generational trauma.
